Athento allows you to add comments to Athento documents to leave notes and context during daily work. This feature is useful, for example, to explain why an invoice has not been approved, record detected incidents, indicate instructions on actions to be taken, or share observations before publishing the final version of the document.
To manage comments, open the document you are working with and, next to the main information, locate the comments icon. Click to access.
When you select it, a pop-up window called “Add comment” opens, with a text field, two buttons and the history of comments that have already been added to the document.
Comments are displayed in a table with three columns:
- Author: shows the name of the user who added the comment.
- Creation Date: indicates the date and time when the comment was inserted.
- Comment: shows the content of the comment.
Mention users and groups in comments
You can mention users and/or groups in comments so that they receive an email notification.
To mention a user or group, type “@” in the comment field and then the first characters of the user name or the group name. Athento will show the available matches. Select the user or group from the list.
Then, write your message and click the send button. The mentioned user and/or group will receive an email.
Edit your own comment
Athento allows you to edit your own comments. In the table you will see a button to edit the comment. Note that it is only possible to edit your comments. When a comment has been modified, the list will indicate that that comment has been edited.
Delete your own comment
Athento allows you to delete your own comments. In the table and in the panels where the comments are shown, next to the edit button, another one will be shown so you can delete comments if you are the author. In addition, comments can only be deleted if they have no reply; once the reply is deleted, deletion is enabled again.
