In Athento you can remove the relationships between documents without deleting the original documents. This functionality is useful when you want to “unlink” documents based on their type (form), keeping the information intact.
What is this operation for?
This operation allows you to:
- Remove relationships between documents selectively
- Keep the documents without deleting them
- Clean up unwanted relationships automatically
For example, you can remove all relationships with documents of type “Invoice” or “Contract”, without affecting the rest.
How does it work?
The operation reviews the relationships of the current document and:
- Identifies the related documents
- Checks the form (type) of each one
- Removes only the relationships with the forms you have selected
Configuration
When running the operation, you will have to configure two parameters:
1. Forms (Forms)
Select one or more forms.
Only the relationships with documents that have those forms will be removed.
Example:
If you select:
- Invoice
- Contract
Only the relationships with documents of those types will be removed.
2. Relationship scope (Relation scope)
Define which relationships you want to review:
- Both (Both) → reviews all relationships
- Parent relationships (Target relations) → only “parent” documents
- Child relationships (Source relations) → only “child” documents
Practical example
Imagine that a document has relationships with:
- Invoice
- Contract
- Order
You configure the operation like this:
- Forms: Invoice, Contract
- Scope: Both
Result:
The relationships with Invoice and Contract will be removed, but the relationship with Order will be kept.
Operation result
- If you do not select forms → no action is performed
- If there are no matches → no relationship is removed
- If there are matches → only those relationships are removed
Important
- This operation does not delete documents, it only removes relationships
- It is safe: it does not affect the content or the metadata
- You can use it in automations or run it manually
