To create category-level automations, access the category settings in the "Fields" tab of a form. Click the edit button.
Click the Automations tab.
Click Add Automation. Next, you will be able to configure the display rules that will apply to all fields in the category. These rules are defined the same as per-field automations.
Each added automation can be disabled from the corresponding check to its right. Next to this check there is also the button that allows deleting that automation.
It is possible to add more than one automation by clicking again on the Add Automation button.
The options that can be selected as the action to execute when an automation rule is met are as follows:
- Show / Hide category.
- Collapse / Expand category.
- Editable metadata / Read-only metadata (applies to the category metadata).
Important Considerations
Automations or field display rules are evaluated on the server by default. For very large forms, with many rules and many users consulting them, Athento recommends that the evaluation be done on the client side. The product offers a configuration for this behavior.
